It’s Been Literally Raining on all of our Parades!!

Don’t let this weather rain on your holiday spirit!! From the extremely high tides we had at the end of November to all of the rain we have already experienced, many of Charleston’s outdoor holiday celebrations(aka Parades and Tree Lighting Ceremonies) have had to be rescheduled or postponed. But do not let this get your spirit down. There are plenty of indoor events you can enjoy, including:

The Charleston Symphony Orchestra holiday tradition is “Holy City Messiah” held in 3 beautiful Charleston Churches. More info: https://charlestonsymphony.org and Performances are:
7:30 p.m. Dec. 6 at Cathedral of St. John the Baptist in Charleston
7:30 p.m. Dec. 8 at East Cooper Baptist Church in Mount Pleasant
4 p.m. Dec. 9 at St. Theresa the Little Flower Catholic Church Summerville

Check out the Family Yuletide in the Stableyards at Middleton Place. Get LOCAL and down to earth with fresh greenery, berries and other natural items gathered from the plantation will be provided to make wreaths and other holiday decor. If you were doubting the existence of Santa or that miracles DO happen…Do not miss the production of “Miracle on 34th Street, The Musical” performance Dec. 7-22 at The Footlight Players. Info: footlightplayers.net

Looking for an original Christmas comedy? Take a seat at Black Fedora Comedy Mystery Theatre, 164 Church Street and enjoy holiday laughter with “A Merry Madcap Mystery,” running Thanksgiving through New Years Day.

Charleston Stage puts on “A Christmas Carol” at the famous the Dock Street Theatre from Nov. 28 to Dec. 19. Get in the holiday mood with Ebenezer Scrooge, Tiny Tim and the spirits of Christmas Past, Present and Future in this take on Charles Dickens’ novel. Info: charlestonstage.com
