The jukebox musical inspired by the recording session that brought together music icons Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Elvis Presley to a recording session, Million Dollar Quartet, is arriving at the Charleston Gaillard Center. Set in 1956 in Memphis, Tennessee, this musical features performances of rock n’ roll hits like “Blue Suede Shoes,” “Folsom Prison Blues,” and “Hound Dog,” between the “million dollar quartet” of some of rock’s most influential acts. A Tony Award winner, you won’t want to miss this rocking performance!

Volvo Car Open | March 31st – April 8th | Volvo Car Stadium (Charleston)

Grab your seats to one of the hottest tickets in professional sports around! The 46th Annual Volvo Car Open is coming to the City of Charleston and serves as the largest women’s only tennis tournament in the United States. This week-long event is not only an exciting tennis tournament, but also a festival of activities boasting live entertainment, local culinary tastings, shopping, giveaways, and much more. The event also offers a daily happy hour from 5 pm – 7 pm, which will include the “official” beverages of the open, local craft brews, and live entertainment. Flowertown Festival | April 6th – April 8th | Azalea Park (Summerville)

Consistently ranked as one of the Top 20 events in the Southeast, this festival of flowers features over 200 jury-selected artists from across the globe who exhibit their work for purchase, making it one of the largest arts and crafts festivals in the South! Hosted locally by the Summerville Family YMCA, guests can enjoy delicious foods from local restaurants, a diverse local farmers market, live entertainment, free admission and parking, and much more! Low Country Cajun Festival | April 8th | James Island County Park (James Island)

For the 27th year, the Low Country Cajun Festival is serving up a full-day of music, children’s activities, and of course, delicious Cajun and Creole dishes! Located at James Island County Park, just northeast of Folly Beach, guests will be provided with exceptional Cajun and Creole delicacies, including alligator, jambalaya, crawfish, and andouille sausage, whipped up by local restaurants, caterers, and food trucks from around the area. Guests will also find a menu with Lowcountry and classic festival fare including seafood, hot dogs, barbecue, and funnel cakes. The day will feature a full slate of entertainment and live music, a crafters’ market, inflatable rides, and souvenirs. Admission is $15, and admission is free for ages 12 and under with a paying adult.

Charleston Beer Garden | May 19th | The Grove at Patriots Point (Mt. Pleasant)

craft beer samplesCalling all craft beer enthusiasts! The highly anticipated Annual Charleston Beer Garden is returning once again on May 19th. Located at the beautiful Grove at Patriots Point, this celebration of suds is an epic day packed with craft brews, decadent food, interactive games, local vendors, live music, and more! There will be showcases of over 20 breweries displaying different, unique beers for your tasting. All proceeds from this event will go to a local Charleston area charity. This is a 21 and older event and general admission tickets are $20 in advance and $50 for VIP in advance. All tickets include a commemorative festival mug, along with festival admission and live entertainment.
